Our Mission is to provide service for the Care Givers of loved ones that suffer from Sickle Cell Anemia. We are here to spread awareness, advocate, educate, and to help improve quality of life of those that suffer from this disease.

"Waking UP for School is Cool". This story is about my son Paris who suffers from a chronic illness called sickle cell Anemia. Sickle Cell Anemia is an inherited blood disorder in which blood cells are not shaped as they should be.
These sickle shaped cells get stuck together and block small blood vessels. This stops blood from moving as it should, which can lead to pain and organ damage. Paris loved school when he was a kid.
At times he was not able to attend school because of the illness. He would stay home sick some days or even be hospitalized because of the pain. When Paris felt in good health to return, he was so happy and made the best of it!! Many children can relate to this story that suffer from Sickle Cell Anemia and other chronic illnesses.
WHO WE ARE
A Bit of Background
My name is Jamai Leigh from Beacon New York. I am a mother of an amazing son (on the left) that suffers from Sickle Cell Anemia, and the daughter of an amazing father that suffers as well.
Sickle Cell Anemia is an inherited blood disorder in which the red blood cells are not shaped as they should be. These sickle shaped cells get stuck together and block small blood vessels. This stops blood from moving as it should, which can lead to extreme pain and organ damage.
Sickle Cell is a very painful disease. My Father and Son are full of life. Their warrior spirit is the reason I want to be that support to those in need.
Life Flows Through Every Body is a Non-Profit Organization 501c3. It was created to advocate and support families who have children or loved ones with Sickle Cell. My hope is to have the means to help the families while they care for their loved ones. From hospitalizations to doctor visits, it can take a toll on the family. Many sleepless nights for the caregivers. I know this life first hand. I've been bound to hospitals, just as much as my son. Completely unprepared! I know what it feels like to be out of work, loss of sleep, hungry, no shower, low on gas because of the traveling and the financial strain of simply just paying for parking. "Life Flows Through Every Body Foundation" wants to help.
